Starting your Electronic Application

1. Ensure that your internet browser is Java Script enabled.  For most users enabling of Java Script is a default.  Unless you have made changes to the Java Script status, you should be okay.

2. During the application process your entered data is saved each time you use the "Save and Continue" buttons located throughout the electronic application.  Your use of the "Save and Continue" buttons is important for many reasons:

When the Applicant clicks on the first "Save and Continue" button in the application, an email message will be sent to the Applicant with a link back to his or her saved application data.

Some internet networks require that data be transferred regularly (every 3 to 5 minutes) in order to retain the Internet connection. This is especially true for institutions or organizations that use an internet network designed to limit the number of internet portals accessible (online) at any given moment.

The "Save and Continue" buttons located throughout the application are in place to help you retain your internet portal connection.  We recommend that you click on the button each time you complete a section or more frequently for sections that take longer to complete.

3. If you are not able to complete the application in one sitting or in one internet session, you may use the link sent in your email message to gain access to your saved application data.  Remember you will need to be logged in to the system [using your registered user information] in order to use the link back to your application.

4. If, after clicking on the "Save and Continue" button, you receive a message stating “the host server” is not available, it is possible that you lost your internet portal connection during the application process.  You will need to utilize the link provided in your email message in order to access your application.  Depending on when the internet connection was lost, you may have to re-enter some of your data.  Remember that you will need to be logged in to the system [using your registered user information] in order to use the link back to your application.

5. Carefully read any system messages you may receive.  Most system messages include InfoPath-Form Services logo in the top, right corner of the message header.  And most messages provide you with the option of "Showing error details".  If assistance is needed, provide us with information about the content of the system message received.

6. Accurate e-mail addresses are required throughout the electronic application process.  As you enter your application data, be very sure that you provide accurate, operational email information whenever email addresses are requested [i.e., mentor, references, etc.].

7. For questions or assistance, please send a message to nidaipfellowships@iqsolutions.com, or by calling +1-301-984-1471, ext. 4276.
